The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beech Fork Lake has volunteer opportunities for you during the upcoming recreation season: May through September 2021.
Beech Fork Lake is seeking to fill three (3) Visitor Center Host / Beach Fee Attendant positions. Volunteers would be required to work 24 hours per week.
Duties would include assisting the Natural Resource Management staff by managing recreational activities, providing visitors with a quality recreational experience, collecting fees and selling passes.
Volunteers are provided full hookup accommodations in our volunteer village, a spacious secluded campground only for volunteers. Sites feature concrete pads, water, 30 and 50 amp electric hookups, and full sewer hookup onsite as well. We provide a washer and dryer in the campsite free of charge to volunteers. Camping units must be self-contained. There is no restroom or shower house in the campground. Light maintenance is required, as volunteers take care of the upkeep of the village during the summer (mowing, taking out trash, etc.).
The occupant(s) on each campsite will work a specific schedule that requires a minimum of 24 hours per week per site. Volunteers must commit to a long term agreement (May thru early September).
Requirements:
– Volunteers are expected to provide their own camper (Please provide a photo and length of your camper)
– Must be capable of performing light physical work.
– Ability to effectively communicate with the public.
– Ability to maintain a schedule
– Willingness to commit to a long term agreement.
– Wear the provided Park Host uniform while performing duties.
The occupant(s) on each campsite will work a specific schedule that requires a minimum of 24 hours per week per site. Volunteers must commit to a long term agreement (May thru early September).
Duties include providing information to guests while working the toll house as a fee attendant, opening/closing and checking the swimming beach, or working in the Visitor Center. Collect money from the public, use a register, and sell passes. Working with staff to make the summer as successful as possible. There are also opportunities to assist with events, safety programs, and small maintenance tasks.

An even mix of indoor and outdoor work environment. Visitor Center duties are mostly indoor, but there is a garden that will need to be attended to. Beach Fee Attendant duties pertain mostly to staffing the toll house, but also entails some basic routine responsibilities outdoors at the swimming beach.
