DESCRIPTION
Park host volunteer couples needed to manage Doll Mountain Campground
Camp host couples are needed to assist with management of Doll Mountain Campground. Host couples will work as a rotation of 3 couples.
DUTIES
Opening and closing the gates at opening time and closing time, respectively. -Working in gatehouse periodically to ensure proper check-in / check-out. – Providing general information to the campers and public. – Ensure campsite information for incoming and outgoing campers is up to date – Periodically patrol campground to ensure compliance with general facility and project regulations. – Verifying that persons check-out in a timely manner. – Contacting park ranger or county law enforcement in event of egregious violations of regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to converse and work well with the public. – Ability to work well as part of a team. – Timeliness – Ability to follow procedures and rules, but make safe judgment calls in the event of undefined situations. – Ability to walk average distances and manage some sloped sidewalks. – Willingness to take direction from park staff without argument.
Federal background fitness check is required prior to assuming position. You will be required to fingerprint and complete a PSIP form for general background check. This is due to your close interaction with the public at large and working with accountable items such as day use passes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily indoor, but with periods outdoors in the elements. You will work as a team to manage the park, but may cover for one another to take short breaks up to 30 minutes for lunch or rest. You will be exposed to the elements while outdoors, such as heat. A government vehicle will be located at the park for use by on duty hosts for purposes of riding through the park. You will work with USACE Park Ranger staff as necessary. Your schedule is not set and days/times may vary to the needs of the campground, but you will rotate approximately 3 days on 6 days off (unless couples leave). You will work approximately 20-30 total hours per week, expect that there may be occasional after hours contact with campers who need assistance.
General environmental (heat exposure, rain/lightening events)
You will receive a full hook-up campsite at Doll Mountain Campground. The site will have 30/50 A electric, Water and Sewer. You are required to have your own self contained unit, must have built in shower. No pop-up campers.
