LOCATION: Valley of the Rogue State Park
DATES: Valley of the Rogue State Park; Needed From July 1, 2021 To July 30, 2021
DESCRIPTION: Yurt/Cabin Host- Valley of the Rogue State Park; Valley of the Rogue State Park is located off the I-5 along the beautiful Rogue River. The 277 acre park is comprised of a variety of mature trees, and includes a Rogue River Green Way trail nearly 8 miles long. The park features 98 full hook-up sites, 55 electrical sites, 4 tent sites, 8 yurts, 3 group camp sites, and a lodge for our Junior Beaver Program. The park also features a boat ramp, rest area, and picnic areas. In addition to camping services, the park regularly accommodates a variety of special events including weddings, family reunions, and track-and-field events.; Hosts positions at our campground include a full hookup site as well as access to a laundry room where your mail will also be delivered. When not on duty you can explore the nearby cities of Medford, Ashland, and historic Jacksonville. The Oregon Caves and Crater Lake are just a few hours away if you are planning a day trip.; Volunteer host positions are a valued and integral component of the Valley of the Rogue State Park team. The following lists are meant to be representative of the duties that comprise the Valley of the Rogue Host positions. Position duties vary and may change depending on the time of year, staffing levels, the specific interests and talents possessed by individual park hosts and the specific location (site) you are assigned.; · Serve as a visible and professional representative of the park with a knowledgeable understanding of park rules and regulations; · Be willing and able to answer questions and receive comments when park staff are not available; · Provide information and assistance to visitors; · Monitor camp for abuse and noise; · Attend monthly safety meetings; · Attend scheduled orientation; · Complete mandatory Safety Modules; · Report any unsafe conditions to park staff; · Work as a team with all staff and volunteers of park; · Spot check restrooms and showers for supplies and cleanliness; · Bundle and sell firewood; · Clean out fire pits; · Litter pick campsites; · Pick up garbage in loop; · Check-in/out Yurts (when booth is closed); · Keep inventory of Yurt keys; · Clean/Disinfect Yurts; · Other agreed upon tasks
