Colt Creek State Park needs park resident volunteers and campground hosts!
Join our team at Colt Creek State Park as a park resident volunteer or campground host! Campground hosts answer questions, help with maintenance and are available for late-night emergencies. A campsite is provided in return at no charge.

Time Commitment: 20 hours per week per site, 16-week max stay 1 month minimum stay
Regular Job Duties:
Campground host: Works Friday – Monday from 10am-3pm. Cleans campground bathrooms & campsites.
Park Resident volunteer: Must work at least 1 weekend day. Must do 20 hours a week. Cleans bathrooms in day use areas, cleans campground when campground host is off, and/or works in ranger station.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a sexual offender background check. Must be able to work 20 hours a week. Must be at least 18 years old.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Preferred: Experience working in a campground or state park. Experience working in a ranger station or with customer service, computers, and a cash register. Experience working outside and operating power tools and heavy equipment. Experience in carpentry, electric, and/or plumbing.
Additional Information: All sites have full hookups (water, electric, sewer) and access to bathrooms, showers, washer and dryer. Please know that Colt Creek is about 15-20 minutes from the closest town. There is no WiFi at the park, and cell reception can be pretty spotty (AT&T works best out here). You will also be working in the summer, which is hot, wet, and full of mosquitoes. It is also hurricane season, so you may have to evacuate if there is a hurricane or tropical storm.
