DESCRIPTION:

Homestead National Historical Park is looking for skilled volunteers who can demonstrate the historic art of tanning hides. Volunteers will work with the Volunteer Coordinator to find times and dates for demonstrations.

Homestead National Historical Park is looking for skilled volunteers who can demonstrate the historic art of tanning hides. Tanning is the process of treating animal hides to produce leather. Volunteers will have the opportunity to schedule times to demonstrate their skill on the grounds of Homestead National Historical Park and at Park events. Volunteers will work with the Volunteer Coordinator to find times and dates for demonstrations. Demonstrators will be responsible for bringing their own equipment and supplies.

 

DUTIES
Demonstrator will showcase tanning process on the grounds of Homestead National Historical Park.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrator must be proficient in the historic art of tanning hides. Demonstrator must have their own supplies, equipment, and hides.
