CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION
VOLUNTEER
TITLE: CAMPGROUND HOST- ILLINIWEK 1-10-2021
Characteristics of the Class: Under general supervision of the Park Ranger/Superintendent acts as a good-will ambassador between campers and park staff, providing information to the public, and performing basic manual tasks (litter pick-up & restroom cleaning). This is a non-paid position with the primary duties in exchange for one (1) free campsite with electricity, water, and sewer provided for the season. Hosts may be asked/allowed to perform additional tasks associated with park maintenance or work in the Camp Office on a per hour paid basis.
Examples of Essential Functions:
Assist campers by providing helpful information and answering questions.
Notifies park maintenance of necessary repairs due to vandalism or public use.
Explains park rules and regulations.
Assures campers are registered by checking site registration markers.
Acts as an after-hours contact for emergencies within the assigned campground.
Contacts proper authorities by telephone in event of emergencies.
Performs cleaning and custodial duties of grounds and restrooms to include picking up litter, monitoring of restroom usage, and light sweeping or mopping as needed.
Other duties as required.
For your protection, you should never accept responsibility for supervising park visitors’ children. Babysitting is not one of your volunteer job duties.
Note: Hosts may be asked/allowed to perform additional tasks associated with the campground and rest room maintenance responsibilities on a per hour paid basis.
