Seeking couple to fill 1 Visitor Center Tour Guide Position from May 1 – September 6th, 2021
We are looking for couples to help run the Visitor Center at Dworshak Dam and Reservoir in Idaho! If you like people, enjoy learning and sharing historical information and are positive, outgoing people, this would be a great opportunity for you. We are looking for a couple from May 15th to just after Labor Day (date is negotiable). The Visitor Center is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, 7 days per week. We ask that volunteers would each work 6-7 1/2 hour shifts, four days per week. This would be four days on four days off schedule. (Please do not let limitations in availability prevent you from considering this position; we can work with volunteers to fit their availability into our season.)
AMENITIES: We offer a full hook-up campsite (water, sewer, electric service with 50 amp maximum), provide all necessary uniform components, and safety equipment (vest, hard hat, etc.), along with free laundry, a shed for storage, freezer, and fridge that will be shared with the other volunteers. Volunteers provide their own RV or trailer.
DUTIES
- Meet and Greet Visitors
- Share information about the dam, area, etc.
- Give two Dam Tours per day
- Daily operations of Visitor Center
- other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must genuinely like all kinds of people
- Must be interested in leaning about the dam, the history of the area, points of interest, etc.
- Must be comfortable speaking to groups of people

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The visitor center is three stories with air conditioning and an elevator. This position is mostly indoors, except for tours. The dam is 3/4 of a mile long, so you will need to be prepared to give walking tours at least a few miles each day. Tours can take place when it is hot and sunny or cool and rainy; must be prepared for all kinds of weather.
