This well maintained, campground and popular boat launch, is one of Montana’s favorite! Swimming, boating, fishing, camping, and picnicking are ongoing actives all summer long. You Will Be Assisting with the Management: This is a 75 site campground that has a busy boat launch with docks. Daily compliance checks need to be done for the day use parking, and camping fees. However, you will not collect any money from the public. Some people need to be politely reminded about the 10pm quiet hours and to turn off their generators. Also, keeping their dogs off the beach and on their leash are requirements at the campgrounds. We are looking for a friendly person willing to answer the publics questions. You Will Be Cleaning: Ten concrete style vault toilets get frequent use, and must be cleaned and re-stocked with toilet paper daily. Some basic carpentry skills would be helpful: painting, fencing, plumbing, and irrigation systems. We have all the supplies, equipment and tools. You will also be taking care of Departure Point campground and day use area. You will be assisting the resident Park Ranger, who primarily works weekends. And you will also be assisting the Maintenance Worker, who works weekdays. Your work schedule could vary with seasonal, or daily demands. It may include busy weekends, unassisted weekdays, and some late evening shifts. You should have 2-3 days off each week! We do ask that the volunteers are on for the busy holidays. There is a $15 daily meal reimbursement approved ! This meal reimbursement is included with with each Volunteer Position. You must keep a daily log of your completed volunteer hours.
