DESCRIPTION:

Wade Lake campground host will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning of 51 sites between 3 campgrounds in close proximity to each other. The host site will have sewer and water hookups with access to a generator provided by the Forest Service. There is no cell phone service at this site but can be acquired by driving 1.25 miles up the road.

 

Wade Lake campground is a popular recreation area with 27 sites, located 50 minutes south of Ennis and 40 minutes east of West Yellowstone. There are 3 campgrounds located near each other totaling 51 sites. The area is very popular with locals and tourist alike due to its natural beauty and proximity to Yellowstone National Park. The aqua blue water of the lakes is an attraction for miles around and is a very busy from June-September. Wade Lake and Cliff Lake are some of the most popular water features in southwest Montana, on a busy day in July or August there can be up to 80 vehicles at each lake using the days use areas.

Cliff Lake has a campground with 6 sites that are waterfront and Hill Top campground sits between Cliff and Wade Lake on a bluff with 18 sites.

The position duties would be to help us manage the campground and day use sites by having a forest service presence in the campgrounds to answer visitor questions, clean bathrooms, direct traffic flows, maintain picnic tables, clean trash, talk to visitors about food storage compliance for grizzly bears, and make sure reservation sites are not taken by first come first serve users.

This year will be the first year of reservations at the campgrounds to help manage the crowds so a self-starter and good work ethic will be a must. The district has been working hard to make improvements to the area in the past year to help with the increased use in the area.
