DESCRIPTION:
Seeking individual or couple as campground host in Conchas Dam, NM. From early May to end of October, 2021.
The campground has 20 primitive sites available on a first-come, first-served basis and a group site available by reservation. Conchas Lake offers a variety of recreational activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking, photography and wildlife viewing.
DUTIES
Ensure campers have registered and help visitors find campsites.
Patrol campground and restrooms and alert maintenance staff if needed.
Provide information to campers on regulations, recreational activities and Ranger programs.
Inform camp visitors of safety concerns, such as fire conditions and weather alerts.
Gather and record visitor use data.
Notify law enforcement or supervisor if illegal activity is observed.
Complete other duties or tasks as mutually agreed upon.
QUALIFICATIONS
Good communication skills and an ability to relate to children and adults of diverse backgrounds; ability to work independently. Positive attitude and enjoys working with and being visible to the public. Must provide own recreational vehicle to be used as a living unit.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for the Campground Host will be mostly outdoors. Conchas Lake is a high plains environment with cooler temps in the morning to 100+ degrees in the afternoon. The environment includes lots of pinon and mesquite trees. Conchas Lake is a remote facility with the nearest amenities ~45 minutes away.
