Must have RV or Camper (no tents, etc.) Prefer that host have a POV so that their camper or RV can stay on site to provide a presence and added security to the campground.Washer and dryer available for use at NCA bunkhouse, less than a mile from Jaggers campground.

Volunteer Activities• Campground Host Photo Courtesy of BLM DescriptionHost person or couple at Fort Stanton-Snowy River Cave National Conservation Area. Maintain campground area, mowing/weedeating, clean vault toilets at Jaggers campground and Cave campground (small, primitive site located close to Jaggers). Operate UTV for admin use. Interact with visitors, provide assistance and information on NCA trails and amenities.  Campground main uses are for equestrian activities, general hiking/camping, and some hunters during fall seasons for deer and elk. *Have revised this opportunity to be for Fall 2019 through Spring of 2020; could potentially be extended if host desires and performance is acceptable. Normal work schedule is Thursday through Monday (Tues/Wed off), however flexibility is desirable during peak visitation or other events. Jaggers Campground is located near historic Fort Stanton, and the town of Lincoln (BIlly the Kid and Lincoln County Cattle Wars) at approximately 6,500′ elevation in mountains of southern New Mexico, so summers are cool with mild winters. New BLM policices require a background check/fingerprinting.  If applicant already has this, that is a plus, but if a candidate is selected it could be completed prior to starting official duties.
