Campground Host: Serve as “live-in” host at park campground. Register campers, provide information and explain rules and regulations. Perform light maintenance work around the campground such as picking up litter, cleaning and stocking toilet facilities, and selling firewood. This position requires working weekends, holidays and evening hours. Your campsite provided free of charge while you volunteer.
Hanging Rock State Park is looking for volunteer campground hosts for July, August and November 2021.
Hanging Rock State Park is looking for volunteer campground hosts for our 72-site family campground. We currently need a host for the months of July, August, and November.
This position is located in the family camping area at Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, N.C. The applicant chosen will serve as a volunteer campground host, providing a variety of services. During a pre-arranged length of stay, volunteers serve as live-in hosts at the campground.
The primary responsibility is to be the point of contact for overnight visitors in case of emergencies at night after the gate is closed. Host will be provided means to call rangers on duty, should an emergency occur.
The secondary responsibilities include:
- Provide excellent customer service by answering visitors’ questions
- Sell firewood, collect fees, and issue receipts
- Perform light maintenance work around the campground, such as picking up ground litter and stocking of the toilet facilities
- Report major maintenance issues to park personnel
