Campground Host

Wolf Creek Campground is 25 minutes from Glide, OR along the Little River. With 7 campsites and a large group reservation area that has a maximum capacity of 150, this little campground stays quite busy throughout the summer. Recreationists visit the site for day use to dip their toes and swim in the Little River, a popular swim site. A short nature trail is just across the river adding to the activities that can be enjoyed here. The group site provides plenty of space for large groups with a pavilion, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a large ball field with back stop.

Camp Host Duties include the following: welcome visitors, assist with the management of the group reservation site by ensuring bathrooms are unlocked and the area is ready, cleaning and restocking restrooms, answering questions about the local area, reminding visitors of campground rules such as keeping campsites clean and leashing pets, performing compliance checks, and communicating visitor conflicts to Forest Service (FS) staff. Other host duties involve helping with campground needs such as picking up litter, cleaning picnic tables, grills and firepits, restocking toilet paper and fee envelopes, assisting with grounds maintenance of the ball field, and communicating maintenance problems with FS staff. Volunteer must be able to bend, lift and walk comfortably. Ability to use tools such as rakes, brooms, pruners, and shovels is preferred but not required.

 

DUTIES

Assist with campground operations, meet and greet campers, ensure group reservation area is prepared prior to group arrival, clean and restock bathrooms, clean campsites, picnic tables and fire pits/grills, and remind visitors of campground rules. Grounds maintenance using power and hand tools. Assist with ensuring fee compliance and restock fee envelopes. Provide recreation opportunity information about the area.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to provide customer service and work with the public.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Wolf Creek Campground is tucked next to the Little River with a large open area hemmed in by a canopy of forest, providing a perfect setting for family reunions, celebrations or group getaways. On the campground side, 7 sites provide camping opportunities for those wishing to enjoy the area.
