Seeking to fill a Host Caretaker position at the Oregon Dunes Recreation Area
A Volunteer is needed for the Caretaker position at the beautiful Oregon Dunes Recreation Area in the Siuslaw National Forest from April, 2021 to October 2021.
We offer an RV site at a OHV Staging Area located about 25 miles south of Reedsport Forest Service Station, there will be some travel time involved and there is reimbursement offered. Hookups include water, sewer, 50 amp electrical, propane. Cell phone coverage may be spotty at times.
Duties include grounds keeping of the Oregon Dunes Recreation Area to include mowing, use of a power blower, and brush trimming. Duties also include maintaining and cleaning 10 area restrooms a minimum of 5 days a week. Volunteers will assist the Forest Service Developed Recreation Technician with projects, facility maintenance, and grounds keeping as needed.
The position requires the ability to lift 40 pounds and requires and extended time on feet. Volunteer will provide friendly visitor service in the course of performing duties.
Applicant will be required to obtain a Forest Service Driver’s license and wear a volunteer vest and uniform outerwear provided by the Forest Service.

The Oregon Dunes Recreation Area has 42 miles of dunes, amazing areas to explore hiking, fishing, kayaking and Off Highway Vehicle opportunities.
