Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Trail/Campground Maintenance • Visitor Information Photo Courtesy of FS DescriptionThis is an outreach for the Host position at Flanner’s Beach Campground located outside of New Bern, North Carolina. Located on the banks of the Nuese river and a few miles for historic downtown New Bern this is a great place to live and work.The responsiblities for this position include; Cleaning and restocking restroom facilities. Grounds keeping in and around campground (including zero turn mower operation, weed whipping, raking, and litter collection.) Open and Close campground gate based on established hours. Address visitor questions and concerns. Assist in reservations. Report any rule breaking to appropriate Forest Service officials Hosts are expected to serve a minimum of 30 hours a week. The host is given a reimbursement of $10 a month, and an RV site while volunteering. Applicant must provide their own camper or RV.
