Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Visitor Information Photo Courtesy of USBR DescriptionWhere: Canyon Ferry Reservoir 20 miles east of Helena, Montana When: May 7 though September 13 2020 Campground Hosts serve as a liaison between campground visitors and the Bureau of Reclamation. Hosts are responsible for providing campers with campground rules and regulations, cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning fire rings, picking up litter, conducting fee compliance checks and reporting any problems and unsafe or hazardous conditions within the campground as they are discovered. Qualifications/Skills Enjoys working with the public. Able to work with a high volume of visitors under stressful situations. Can communicate effectively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. Contribute as a team player working with a diverse group of people Able to provide and use personal electronic device to receive daily emails. Working Conditions Volunteers should be prepared to live and work in a campground environment exposed to all types of weather conditions.   Benefits Hosts are provided with a campsite with full-hookups (no Propane) for a self-contained trailer or motor home. In addition, hosts are eligible to receive a camp rate of $34/day, for 5 days of the week with two days off. Volunteers are responsible for reporting all taxable income.
