Volunteer Activities• Other • Trail/Campground Maintenance • General Assistance DescriptionWest Overlook Day-Use Area Custodian Volunteer (2 Positions): West Overlook Day-Use Area is a high use area that includes a boat ramp, swim beach, large parking lot, and picnic shelters. The primary duty of these volunteer positions is trash removal, litter pick-up, and picnic shelter cleaning. Volunteers are required to provide an average of 20 hours of service per week. Typical work days will be Friday-Monday, but schedules may vary if 2 positions are filled. Please note:  Volunteers in these positions will be required to work weekends and holidays. Volunteers should be available from April 20 through November 01. Volunteers must have a vehicle suitable for transporting trash and recycling. Volunteer duties include but are not limited to:   Emptying trash cans and replacing with a new liner. Cleaning the large group shelter and three small shelters. Cleaning pedestal grills and picnic tables. Cleaning playground as needed. Picking up litter in all areas to include beach, parking lot, mowed areas and non-mowed areas. Light cleaning of portable toilets between cleaning by contractor. Emptying recycling containers at the dump station and Turkey Creak Day Use Area on Friday and Mondays. Campground maintenance activities as available. Other tasks as assigned by the volunteer coordinator.
