DESCRIPTION:
Be attentive, friendly, respectful, and accommodating to our visitors and other hosts at all times. Dress appropriately and portray a positive image of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Training on expected responsibilities and a rotational work schedule will be provided to all host.
Volunteers operate our campground year round by maintaining the park through both gatehouse and facility cleaning positions. Positions available year round with flexible lengths of commitment.
DUTIES
Host Gatehouse Duties: Open gates at 6 am and close gate at 10 pm. Gates must be opened for all emergencies. Hosts will be required to operate R1S software, check in/out campers, and answer telephone during the entire length of your shift. Make sure campsites are in an acceptable condition for incoming campers (fire rings, grills, and campsites clean and clear of debris).
QUALIFICATIONS
People skills and communicating with the customer is the most important skill set to have as a volunteer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some indoor and outdoor work. Working independently from Corps personnel with spouse or partner. Schedule varies, but normally set to 4 days on and 4 days off or 3 days on and 6 days off.
RV site is provided with 50 and 30 amp service, with water hookup and sewer. Laundry machines available on-site.
