CAMPGROUND: Sugar Bottom Maintenance Volunteer

RV SITE: SITE DETAILS: Trailer/RV PadsDescription: Volunteers are required to provide an average of 20 hours of service per week. In return for volunteer service, volunteers will be provided a campsite with 50 amp electricity, water, and sewer.

Volunteer Activities• Other • Trail/Campground Maintenance • General Assistance DescriptionSugar Bottom Maintenance Volunteer: Sugar Bottom Recreation area includes a campground, group campground, campground boat ramp, campground beach, and day-use area (disc golf course, beach, shelter, hiking trail, biking trail). The primary duty of this volunteer position is assisting with park maintenance. Please note:  Volunteers should be available from April 20 through October 01. Volunteers in this position must be able to pass testing and obtain certification necessary to operate a tractor. Volunteer duties include but are not limited to: Replacement of campsite posts. Landscaping and weeding flower beds located in the Sugar Bottom Recreation Area. Painting. Picnic table rehabilitation and relocation as needed to ensure each campsite has a table. Maintaining the amphitheater. Grooming swim beaches twice a week. *Must be able to obtain Corps of Engineer tractor operator certification. Emptying recycling on Mondays and Fridays. Reporting safety risks to park staff. Other duties as assigned by the volunteer coordinator.
