Garner State Park is looking for individuals interested in managing and maintaining the park’s unique resources. Specifically, people who love nature! This position is open to both local volunteers seeking service hours or park hosts for 1 to 6 months. For hosts, we’ll provide you with a full hookup site (50 amp) in exchange for 24 hours of volunteer work per week.
Duties for this opportunity may include some or all of the following:
– Maintaining the park’s bird blind (watering, planting and pruning trees, daily cleaning and feeding as well as creating and maintaining a natural environment for bird viewing)
– Watering park trees
– Maintaining the native garden
– Leading interpretive hikes/nature walks
– Assisting with and developing interpretive programs.
