Volunteer RV Park Campground Host Program
Duties Description
RV Park Campground Host (hereafter called “RV Host”) serves primarily as public relations liaisons providing information, assisting with RV Park operations, guest registration, site assignments, and performing other assorted functions (20 hours per week).
Examples of duties include:
· MUST be computer literate and able to operate necessary devices to perform required responsibilities.
· Welcome campers, answer questions and assist with registration process, assign RV site and supply guests with RV and tow vehicle tags to be displayed in their windows.
· Review and explain rules & regulations with guests.
· Collect payment for their stay, complete Daily Tally report and submit report with payments into the Fairgrounds Main Office the next day during (Monday – Thursday). Friday, Saturday & Sunday paperwork must be turned on Monday. During any County observed holidays, where the front office is not open, Camp Host must turn in paperwork on the first day after the observed holiday that the front office is opened again.
· Acquaint visitors with the RV Park and surrounding area (provide maps and visitor information).
· Answer/return phone calls and emails.
· Light maintenance work (reapply campsite marking boundary lines as needed, charge golf cart as needed, occasional sweeping and stocking of paper products in restrooms, and laundry room, pick up occasional litter, etc.)
· Monitor conditions in laundry room and restrooms, as well as the trash cans and recycle bins. Contact appropriate Fairgrounds staff if they need cleaning, restocking or emptying.
· Set a good example by maintaining a neat and orderly campsite at all times.
· Report necessary repairs to Fairgrounds staff.
· Assist with special events and campground activities, if needed.
· Train new Volunteer RV Host on all job duties including Astra Master Reservation Computer program.
· Meet periodically with Fairgrounds Management.
· During scheduled shift Camp Host must be on-grounds and available for our customers. Leaving grounds for more than 1 hour lunch during schedule shift is not allowed.
RV Host will be selected from applications that have been satisfactorily completed and submitted. Interviews will be conducted by the Fairgrounds Management.
Each RV Host signs an agreement with the Sonoma County Fairgrounds at the time of selection. This also applies to hosts returning from the previous year.
While on duty, RV Hosts wear an I.D. badge so that they are readily recognizable as RV Park representatives to visitors. (These items would be supplied to the RV Host by the Fairgrounds).
RV Host generally works independently. Host volunteers are accountable to the Fairgrounds Management, who will provide training and orientation for hosts and assist hosts throughout the season with any question or problems that may arise.
