DESCRIPTION:
August 2021 to December 2021: Friendly Host couple is needed for the Maintenance position at the spectacular Cape Perpetua Scenic Area in the Siuslaw National Forest.
Duties will include the cleaning and maintaining of 4 area restrooms 5 days a week , some grounds keeping of Cape Perpetua Scenic Area and may include mowing, use of a power blower, and brush trimming. The position requires the ability to lift 40 pounds . Volunteers will assist the Cape Perpetua Forest Service Developed Recreation Technician with projects, facility maintenance, and grounds keeping as time allows. Volunteers will provide friendly visitor service in the course of performing duties. Hours are approximately 25 hours per week. Applicant will be required to obtain a Forest Service Driver’s License and wear a Volunteer vest and uniform outerwear provided by the Forest Service.
We offer an RV site adjacent to the Visitor Center Hosts at the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center upper lot. Hookups include water, sewer, 50-amp electrical, wireless internet and reimbursement for propane usage. There is a washer and drier currently available at Cape Perpetua.

Cape Perpetua Scenic Area has 26 miles of hiking trails, magnificent old-growth coastal rainforest, wilderness areas, rocky shore tide-pools, beaches, and an off shore Marine Reserve. Nearby are the small coastal towns of Yachats and Waldport.
