The Village of Rantoul is now hiring for a part-time / seasonal Campground Host.
The Campground Host is responsible for conducting campground check-ins and check-outs, collecting fees, answering questions from the public, performing light maintenance duties, and reservations.
Job Responsibilities
* Take reservation and work with the Campground software, Reserve America
* Assist in campground special events or activities
* Greet and assist visitors
* Distribute copies of park rules and regulations and go over them with the camper(s)
* Assist campers in locating their campsite
* Take payments as needed
* Familiar with the Village of Rantoul area to help assist our guest with local events, tourist attractions, grocery store, towing, and etc.
* Maintain the campground to look clean at all times
* Clean and stock restrooms and bathhouse
* Communicate with Recreation Office Manager on any issues that might arise
* Promote the campground area
* Keep track of vacant and occupied campsites
* Report any maintenance items that need immediate attention to the Recreation Office Manager
* Maintain records
* Communicate with Recreation Office Manager on any complaints, health, and safety of visitors or staff
* Attend meetings as needed
* Host shall not attempt to discipline or apprehend any park violators. The host will contact our local Police and Recreation Office Manager
* Assist to make sure our visitors are being accommodated to and enjoying their time
* Each site must be cleaned after every camper checks out and before other moves in
* Other duties assigned
Requirements
* Prefer someone who has their own camper and willing to stay during the season on the campground, but not required
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Valid State of Illinois driver’s license
* Basic computer skills
* Basic math skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Preferred someone who has housekeeping experience, but not required
* Must be available to work week days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
* Must be professional at all times
* Excellent customer service skills
* Must be available to work the months March to October with light off work site between November and February
Qualifications
Education –
* Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent
