DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a 32-hour per week interpretation volunteer to work for the Charleston area parks, including the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site, and Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Parks!

A minimum of 32 hours per week is required to be worked for consideration for this vacancy and utilizing the RV site, which is located in Mount Pleasant at the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site. This position requires a background check, references, and an interview.
You will be trained to work at the Charleston area sites based on need and which site best fits the volunteer; the three sites (Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, and Charles Pinckney NHS) each have different operations and interpretive themes. Basic duties include providing information to visitors, operating a cash register for cash and card transactions, and working with staff to provide programs, tours, special event help, etc. Each site will have specific needs and duties covered in training.
It is expected that shared spaces with staff/ other potential RV-site users is left in a clean and respected manner.
RV Volunteers are allowed to stay a maximum of 4 months on-site.
Operating procedures for park sites, light cleaning of office and historic spaces, providing information and orientation to visitors, operating basic A/V equipment, working alongside park staff for programs, special events, etc.
Additional duties may be assigned depending on park needs, staffing, and volunteer interests.
