Four Seasons Family Campground is a family business which is currently run by the third generation of the Robinson Family. When you work for us, you become part of our family and the happy workplace that we strive to maintain.
Four Seasons is located on 200+ acres in beautiful southern New Jersey farm country which is a great place to raise a family. We are located about 2 hours from both New York City and Washington DC, 30 minutes from Philadelphia, and one hour to the beautiful Jersey Shore beaches. The campground features 500 campsites, rental cabins, huge outdoor swimming pool, lake for swimming and fishing, arcade, playground, basketball court, volleyball court, dog park, and more. We are open year-round with our core recreational camping season running from April through October.
We are on year four of a multi-year capital plan to transform our park to meet the needs of the new generation of campers which makes us an ideal organization in which to develop a long and successful career! Position Description:
The Campground Manager provides exceptional customer service to attract and serve our guests and employees and ensure that we meet our financial goals. As Campground Manager, you will have responsibility for all operational aspects and the continued profitability of our campground. A primary role of the Campground Manager is to deliver leadership, mentoring and direction to the Maintenance Lead, Office Manager, Program Manager, and other staff and foster a collaborative, positive work environment. Ensuring a positive atmosphere and responsive service for the members of our community will not only mean satisfied guests and long-term campers, but also better word-of-mouth referrals!
Responsibilities Include:
Guest Services
- Provide exceptional customer service to campers and guests to ensure an excellent experience.
- Ensure customers receive a high level of service consistent with our customer service philosophy.
- Oversee the different teams to provide excellent customer service that contributes to the positive camping experience of our guests and therefore attract future guests.
- Set high quality standards and provide outstanding customer service to our both our guests and our employees.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with a disrespectful and unruly guest.
- Ensure prompt, safe and courteous service to all guests. Resolve guest disputes in a diplomatic consistent manner as developed by management.
- Recommend, implement, and enforce policy and procedures for the effective operation of Four Seasons Campground, including establishing goals, objectives, and priorities. Responds and resolves complex and sensitive issues from the public.
Park Management
- Maintain the resources and assets of the property, including staff, buildings, roads and amenities.
- Help to ensure the safety of our guests and campground property with attentive observation and action.
- Oversee the staff of each area to ensure that the property is clean and attractive in order to maximize occupancy.
- Understanding of the operating complexities and the daily tasks associated with the position.
- Routinely inspects and ensures an above average appearance for all property areas and delegates follow-up appropriately.
- Ensure and takes appropriate action for the proper maintenance of all property equipment. Develop and follow a routine preventative maintenance program.
- Maintain accurate and current maintenance records as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory, distribution, control, and requisitioning of equipment and supplies. Purchases chemicals, first aid supplies, janitorial supplies, and recreational equipment as necessary.
- Represent the park in dealings with our local Township, County, and other officials.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local agencies that regulate our campground operations. This includes, but is not limited to, the local Health Department, Construction Office, Township Office, OSHA, EPA, DEP and Labor Departments.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all agencies, contractors, vendors, and customers.
Organization Management
- Coordinate with office staff for problem resolution.
- Communicate effectively with all staff and management.
- Develop work schedules and oversee maintenance staff to ensure appropriate and efficient operation.
- Hire and manage campground employees.
- Look for ways to create an attractive vacation for our guests and a fun work environment for our staff.
- Recruit, hire, motivate and lead the core team of hands-on department managers.
- Work with the Office Manager to optimize and create staff work schedules per labor budget, season, weather and activity levels.
- Communicate efficiently and timely with management through email and/or voice mail.
- Responsible for adapting schedules to business volume. Reviews operating schedules for all departments on a weekly basis to optimize productivity and guest service.
- Personal flexibility in terms of working weekdays, weekends, holidays and evenings seasonally as needed. During the peak season long hours will be necessary.
- Flexibility to respond to park needs during non-business hours.
Business Management
- Meet with the Business Owners on a regular basis to ensure that you understand their vision for the direction that the business should be moving.
- Collaborate with Owners to quickly and effectively address issues which would adversely affect the operation of the park or guest satisfaction.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all data/information related to specific job assignments and the Four Seasons Campground in general.
- Establish capital expenditure budgets and secure competitive bids for all major purchases and projects.
- Coordinate and monitor contracts/agreements for compliance. Verify and submit contractor invoices for approval and payment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- 5+ years of property management experience, preferably in an RV park or campground with at least 250 sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, or a combination of business degree/education and equivalent experience.
- Strong operational, collaborative and leadership skills, along with a thorough understanding of the complexities of this position.
- Good general technology skills, especially in areas such as reservation management and POS systems, Microsoft Office and other web-based applications.
- Must be a creative, forward thinking individual with excellent organizational, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Must have a cheerful and pleasant attitude and a neat and clean appearance.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record and current auto insurance.
- Clean background check.
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical activities to include running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. of various equipment and work in adverse environmental conditions.
