DESCRIPTION:

Seeking to fill (2) Campground Host positions from May 1 – Sep 30, 2022

This position is for a volunteer camp host at our Downstream Campground. The Downstream Campground is located below the Fort Peck Dam, approximately one mile from the town of Fort Peck, Montana. This campground is operated and maintained by the Corps of Engineers. We would provide a full hookup campsite. In return you would be volunteering an average of 30 hours a week over the course of the summer. USACE would work to schedule days off in blocks together to better accommodate the host’s adventures.

Downstream Campground facts: 86 Campsites, 4 Day use shelters, 3.5 miles of paved walking trials, and a fishing pond. Summer temps are usually in the 80s-90s during the day and 50s-60s at night. We typically have 14,000 individuals visit the campground a summer from all 50 States.

On your days off you are welcome to leave the area and explore all the great places that the upper Great Plains has to offer. There are more than a dozen National Parks or Historic Sites within a days drive of Fort Peck and many more historical and other places of interest.

Facilities in or near Fort Peck include a post office, church, live theatre, hotel, restaurants, gas station, marina, and credit union. Glasgow, Montana, is nearby with a population of roughly 3,500. It is located approximately 20 miles northwest of Fort Peck. Glasgow has grocery stores, laundry mats, and hardware stores.
