We are seeking a host couple to represent the U.S. Forest Service and connect the public to the unique natural and cultural wonders of the Scenic Area. This is a fun, rewarding job which allows creativity, flexibility and opportunities for personal growth. You will work together with a dedicated team of local volunteer and FS staff with a variety of different backgrounds and experience levels. Hosts are asked to volunteer 4 days each week with sometimes variable hours. The Host’s main duty will be to staff the front desk of the visitor center or Devil’s Churn. Hosts will be selling Forest Service recreation passes and the daily operation of the Discover Your Northwest gift shop including sales and operation of cash register and credit card machine and some light We offer a site for a RV right on site at Cape Perpetua. Hookups include water, sewer, 50-amp electrical, wireless internet and reimbursements for propane usage. There is currently a washer/drier on site . The Cape Perpetua Scenic Area has 27 miles of hiking trails, magnificent old-growth coastal rainforests, wilderness areas, rocky shore tide-pools, beaches, and an off-shore Marine Reserve. Nearby are the small coastal towns of Waldport and Yachats, “Gem of the Oregon Coast.” This is a very desirable spot and a fun and rewarding job!
