DESCRIPTION:

Volunteer Day Use Park Host needed for the 2022 recreation season at Lone Branch Recreation Area from May 13 – September 6, 2022. COVID 19 vaccine or weekly testing required.

 

Detailed Description: (Enter a more detailed description with any key information you would like the volunteer to know, if desired.) Volunteer Park Host needed for the 2022 recreation season at Lone Branch Recreation Area. This position requires a responsible couple who desires to work as a public relations liaison for the Corps of Engineers. Preference is given to couples who desire to spend most of the summer recreation season.

 

Volunteers are expected to reside at Lone Branch Recreation Area. Volunteers will work in the Cedar Creek Day Use Area (9.6mi away) fee booth on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for 4hrs between the core hours of 9am-3pm from May 13, 2022 – September 6, 2022. The volunteers are expected to assist visitors with using the Ventek CC machine and collect cash when needed, selling USACE annual passes, as well as assisting visitors with any questions about the area they may have.

 

 

Responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with use of automated pay station, selling Corps Annual Passes, issuing, and receiving loaner life jackets, regular monitoring of the park and helping oversee parking. Necessary skills needed include good communication, organization, and customer service.

 

Old Hickory Lake is a vacation destination that offers unlimited water-based recreation.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·        Customer Service, organization, good communication skills, ability to explain/direct/instruct, Ability to resolve conflict, ability to educate self on area and relay to customers upon inquiry. Ability to walk/oversee the parking, launching & picnic areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

·        Both indoors and outdoors. Working independently. An office is provided for keeping supplies and air conditioned for use when not walking parking lot, issuing passes/brochures/life jackets, etc.

  • Slip, trip, and fall hazards
  • Working outdoors in heat and walking on asphalt parking lot and walking on steep incline to launch ramp. Volunteer may provide their own golf cart to assist.
