Position Summary
VOLUNTEER HOST OPPORTUNITY
The City of Yreka is accepting applications for Volunteer Park Hosts for Greenhorn Park. A Park Host is a volunteer who temporarily resides in a recreational vehicle or trailer in a Park. The Park Host provides basic operational services and information to the visiting public in exchange for a full hookup RV site (Wi-Fi and cable included) and a $400 monthly stipend, per adult Park Host (maximum of two hosts).
GREENHORN PARK INFORMATION
The largest park in Yreka, Greenhorn Park has been built around an expansive reservoir sourced by Greenhorn Creek. Trails weave through the surrounding hillside, lapping the lake, while fishermen take advantage of both off-shore and boat fishing. A large picnic area, play structures, open field and a log cabin (available for rent) and restrooms are located at Upper Greenhorn. Along the south shore of the lake there is historic gold mining machinery and a small ghost town. Lower Greenhorn includes a community soccer field, play structure, large picnic areas, horse-shoe pits, and two restrooms. Lake access is available from both Upper and Lower Greenhorn, and each have their own parking areas.

POSITION DUTIES
Welcoming park guests with a smile and a helpful attitude
Reservation postings
Park rules guidance
Light grounds maintenance
Janitorial tasks in restrooms, picnic areas and other park facilities
May assist the Maintenance Division in other project areas
Other duties as required

VOLUNTEER PARK HOST APPLICATION DEADLINE
Application Deadline: March 18, 2022 at 5:00pm
The current application period is for the below volunteer park host term:
May 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023 (6-9 month term)
*Please note that the City of Yreka may have some flexibility on the move in date, but the park host site must be vacated on the last day of the agreed upon term. Park hosts have two days off per week, excluding weekends.
Important: If you are applying as a volunteer park host with another applicant, each of you must fill out a separate application. Also, please note the other individual’s name, when prompted on the application.
