Campground Host Position on the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area outside of Las Vegas, NV. The position is located at Hilltop Campground
The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area is looking for a campground host for Hilltop Campground. This is a 35 site campground located outside of Las Vegas, NV. The Campground is located off Hwy 158 at approx. 8,000ft in elevation.
The host site at the campground has a sewer dump vault, propane tank, and generator for the campground host’s use. There will be a UTV provided for the host to utilize within the campground for their duties. Be aware, cell phone service is limited within the campground. There is NO water system within the campground, all water for the host site would have to be brought in from off site.
Hilltop Campground will be open May – November, we would like a host to be on-site the entire season, but we can be flexible.
The campground host will be asked to be a host first. Working with visitors to help get them checked-in/settled into their campsites, explaining rules and regulations, and describing the fee system are all things to be expected. There will be minor upkeep required, but major maintenance will be performed by Forest Service personnel. Minor upkeep will include fire ring/grill cleaning, restroom servicing and monitoring trash pick-up.
We ask our hosts to work a 5-day work week with their 2-days off being during the week in order to be present when the campground is the busiest.
Hosts will be asked to wear a volunteer hat and vest to let visitors know they are the campground host while they are on duty.
Hosts work with visitors on a daily basis, good communication skills and a desire to work with people is needed.
Ability to camp for long period of time is needed, with no water and electricity provided by a generator, the host much be able to understand the limitations the site has.
