AVAILABILITY: 4/15/2020–9/30/2020

RV INFORMATION: Volunteers are provided a free full service campsite in exchange for seasonal service from late April through September.

Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Other • General Assistance Photo Courtesy of USACE DescriptionRecreation Area Volunteers: Lake Red Rock, Iowa’s largest lake, provides an array of recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. It is one of Iowa’s premier destinations for camping, biking and water based recreation. The US Army Corps of Engineers manages numerous recreational areas within the project, including 6 campgrounds and 9 day use areas. Much of the public service in these areas is provided by a team of over 50 volunteers. This vibrant team fills 28 service positions including campground hosting, fee collection, custodial work, visitor center staffing, light maintenance, promotional work and program hosting.
