CAMPGROUND: Day-Use Gatehouse Volunteers

AVAILABILITY: 5/15/2020–9/15/2020

RV INFORMATION: A campsite will be provided to volunteers with water and electric hook-ups, although no facilities exist within the recreation area. All equipment, supplies, and uniform items will be provided by the Corps.

Volunteer Activities• Other • General Assistance DescriptionDay-Use Gatehouse Volunteers: Duties: Volunteers will be responsible for manning the day-use gatehouse weekends and holidays throughout the summer recreation season. Daily hours are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Duties include collecting day-use fees, selling annual passes, and supply visitors with information and regulations concerning the Corps of Engineers and day-use area. Volunteers may also assist with the Water Safety and Life Jacket Loaner Programs as needed. Volunteers should report any compliance problems (vandalism and similar disturbances) to the nearest Corps of Engineers’ ranger or law enforcement officer. Volunteers will average 25 to 30 hours of service per week. Volunteer will be bonded and subject to background checks. Volunteers must maintain a valid driver’s license. Volunteers may use a golf cart or similar vehicle while performing assigned duties. Prior approval is required. No vehicles/transportation will be provided by the government.
