DESCRIPTION:

Come spend the summer in Rocky Mountain National Park as a campground host in Aspenglen Campground!

 

Work on Rocky Mountain National Park’s east side as a campground host, attending to guests and supporting staff.

Schedule: 3 days on, 3 days off. You will work with another campground host over the summer. Hosts will need to serve at least 32 hours a week to qualify for park housing (an RV site). (Example: Campground hosts may serve 8 hours Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of one week, and then take off Thursday-Saturday, and work another 8 hour shift on Sunday, for a total of 32 hours in a week. Specific days/hours are up to the campground hosts to decide between themselves. The 8 hour shifts do not need to be served consecutively in one day, you can take a break in the middle of the day to see the park or run errands. Schedules will be reviewed by the position supervisor.)

Trailer spots have full hookups: electric, sewer, and water.

 

DUTIES
  • Regular campground duties such as checking guests in and out, cleaning fire pits, and helping answer guest questions.
  • No custodial duties.
  • No fee collection duties.
  • Hosts will need to serve at least 32 hours a week to qualify for park housing.
  • Make sure visitors are abiding by campground rules.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have campground host experience. The campground hosts will be dealing with the public and, at times, challenging social situations. The hosts will need to be patient and empathetic with visitors.

Campground hosts will have contact information for the Fee Supervisor and Law Enforcement, if necessary. Campground hosts will be supplied with a radio. No wifi connection is available at this site.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Campground hosts will need to work independently with little or no supervision. Work will be entirely outdoors. The campground and surrounding area will see variable weather conditions throughout the season, including lows in the 30s or 40s, sporadic rain or snow. High temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Work will be done at a high elevation.

Campground hosts will interact with other park divisions, such as maintenance, interpretation, and visitor & resource protection.
