Campground Host volunteers needed:
We are looking for a self-motivated, out-going and energetic person(s) or couples with a strong volunteer work ethic.
The position is located on the Alpine Ranger District on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests at the Hannagan Meadows Campground.
Includes, but not limited to: Applicant should have, or be able to obtain, knowledge of the local area, to include history – natural and cultural; an ability to follow agency policy, an ability to contact and inform visitors of local rules and regulations, an ability to use a handheld radio. Volunteers work closely with field staff to address any issues and are also required to report their hours in a timely fashion.
The volunteer(s) will work 32 hours a week to include weekends and holidays. They and will assist Forest Service Employees in the daily operations of the Hannagan Meadows Campground and monitor KP Cienega Campground 4.75 miles away. This includes but is not limited to cleaning and stocking vault toilets, monitoring visitor use and advising of rules and regulations, trash maintenance, talking to visitors and answering questions about the local area; providing information about recreation opportunities on the forest; and educating visitors on fire safety and Leave No Trace/Tread Lightly! principles.
Training and a district orientation will be provided. This position requires constant interface with the public and requires on-site presence for all weekends and holidays. A commitment from May 1 through October 1 weekend is preferred, but shorter commitments will be considered. A federal background check will be conducted upon award of the position. If couples wish to both volunteer an application must be completed for EACH person.

The volunteer must always present a neat, professional appearance and wear appropriate uniform components and name plate while working in the public eye and on official duty. This position requires wearing volunteer shirt/vest.
Volunteer must have their own self-contained RV/Fifth Wheel or travel trailer and be prepared for off-grid living. Volunteers are provided with a designated RV pad. Water is available on-site to fill camper holding tank. A black water dump station is available in Alpine as is propane. The use of a generator is allowed, but a set-up with solar panels is perfect for the high elevation Arizona sun!
