JOB DESCRIPTION:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is recruiting volunteers for the following position………
Volunteer Park Host to work as gatehouse park host at Foscue Creek Campground located in Demopolis, Alabama on the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Lakes. We operate our 4 class A campgrounds year-round, exclusively with volunteers. Schedules are usually 3-4 days on with 4-6 days off. Commitments normally are for 3 – 6 months, but feel free to ask about other commitment opportunities. Sites provided are full hookup with water, sewer, and 50/30-amp service. Volunteer’s will be required to pass a background check.
Main duties include opening gates at 6am and close gate at 10 pm. Hosts will be operating R1S software, checking campers in/out, issue various passes, document shelter reservations. Make sure campsites are in an acceptable condition for incoming campers (fire rings, grills cleaned, and campsites blown off if needed). Answer telephone during the entire length of your shift (day and night). Provide visitors with information on park and local area. Volunteers will work independently with some indoor/outdoor duties. Volunteers should be dependable and friendly to assist campers and park visitors.
