ADDRESS: Canyon Lakes Ranger District; 2150 Centre Avenue, Building E; Fort Collins, Colorado 80526

DEPT: Forest Service

DATES: 6/1/2022 – 9/27/2022

DESCRIPTION:

Historic Forest Service Ranger Station 75 miles northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado in search of host couples this summer.

Ranger Station and Rental Cabin Host Individual or Couple, Stub Creek

Outgoing, self-motivated host or couple needed to host at summer site with amazing mountain views, wildlife and a trout stream in the front yard.

Your nearest neighbors in this gorgeous mountain setting are the moose that graze along trout-filled Stub Creek. Stub Creek Ranger Station offers a complete Colorado mountain package away from the bustle of city life.

LOCATION: Stub Creek is located about 75 miles northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado, and about 54 miles southwest of Laramie, Wyoming. The easiest access for an RV is from Laramie: 36 miles of paved State Highway 10, and 18 miles of good gravel road on Colorado County Roads 103 and 99. From Fort Collins, it is 65 miles of paved State Highway 14, and 17 miles of gravel County Roads 103 & 99. Stub Creek Ranger Station is located at 8,400 in elevation. Summer days are mild; nights are cool. You may need your heater but you will not need AC

HISTORY: Built in the 1930’s by the CCC, historic log Stub Creek Ranger Station currently has one log cabin used as a guest rental, a newer bunkhouse for summer work crews, a log office to provide visitor information, and a log garage/shop.

ATTRACTIONS include nearby fishing in Stub Creek and Laramie River, hiking, bicycling, horse riding, fall hunting, and motorized recreation. Wilderness is just out the back door.

HOST AMENITIES: Host-couples live on-site for the summer. Bring your RV and hook up to our free host site, which includes water, septic, 50 amp and 120 v service. Basic amenities are 1.25 hours away in Laramie, Wyoming. There is a land-line, and dial up computer service or satellite computer service is possible if you choose to pay for it. Cell phones do not work at Stub, but there are a couple of ‘sweet spots’ down the road that get reception with Verizon. There is also a base station radio for emergency use.

WORK SCHEDULE is flexible. Varies depending on check-ins/check-outs
