JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties

Professionally represent the National Park Service. Record and submit work hours and visitor contacts to supervisor. Perform all duties safely and promote a safe, healthy, and inclusive workplace. Check visitors in and out of campground sites. Answer general questions. Clean fire pits as needed. Settle disputes. Help manage first come first serve.

 

Length of Commitment

May 22nd – September 17th with flexibility.

Must provide 32hrs to be provided with RV slab with full hookups.

 

Tools, Equipment, and Vehicles to be Operated:

Volunteer Campground Hosts will operate a small campground vehicle to move to the maintenance area and ranger station when needed to complete duties.

 

Cedar Breaks General Information

Cedar Breaks has a very small campground of 26 sites that is reservation only with some first come first served sites that come about from cancellations. Cedar Breaks is strategically located in the heart of southern Utah with multitudes of other recreational opportunities and National and State Parks within only a few hours drive.

Cedar Breaks does get cold on the shoulder season but throughout the summer it rarely gets into the 80s providing a pleasantly cool campground host experience.

 

Physical Requirements of Work:

While on duty, volunteers must wear the provided park VIP uniform and a name badge.

Brown, tan, or other neutral-colored pants and shoes must be supplied by the volunteer and worn with the shirt/jacket.

Duties include sitting or standing for extended periods of time outside and may require moderate physical exertion.

Most work is performed outdoors at an elevation of over 10,000 feet.

The incumbent may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures, high winds, rain, snow, smoke, or hail during their work hours.
