Job Description
Salt Creek Recreation Area is the crown jewel of the Clallam County Parks, Fair, and facilities Department, located at the crest of the Olympic Peninsula. You will love the open space and the majestic views of this 196 acre park.
Whether camping in a land yacht or under the stars or something in between, Salt Creek has a campsite for everyone. There are 92 campsites, of which approximately half are first come first served, with 39 sites having water and electrical hook-ups. Clean restrooms with free showers for registered campers, are available year-round.
The sports of kayaking, scuba diving, surfing, and mountain biking are enjoyed by all. You may choose to watch the ships parade through the Strait of Juan de Fuca or witness the magnificent beauty of the king of birds, the Bald Eagle.
You haven’t really been to Salt Creek unless you’ve strolled along the shoreline to investigate the impressive tidepools and the multitude of marine life. As a stop on the Whale Trail, you might catch a view of Grey Whales visiting Crescent Bay, Orcas feeding, or the fall migration of the Turkey Vultures. Relaxing and allowing the sound of the surf to put you to sleep is reason enough to make repeated trips to the park. Visit Salt Creek Recreation Area– you’ll find the rewards are priceless and unlimited.
