Job Description
**Camp Host Responsibilities:**
– Clean fire rings.
– Manage communication with campers and oversee the campsite.
– Assist Rangers and Technician Staff as needed.
– If requested, volunteers can receive certification in Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Inspection. ANS training and certification are provided by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) staff.
The summers here are wonderful! We have a beautiful lake, amazing hiking trails, paddleboarding, and boating opportunities. We are only 30-40 minutes from Durango, CO, and Pagosa Springs.

Camp hosts assist staff by communicating with campers, checking fire rings, and cleaning up visible trash. Each volunteer site is equipped with a golf cart and tools for maintaining the campground and the camper services building.
Shuttle service is also available using our side-by-side UTVs. This includes picking up boaters at the marina and transporting them to their vehicles, as well as returning to the marina from the vehicles.
Wi-Fi is available at both the Maintenance Shop and the Visitors Center.
The start date for volunteering can be adjusted to be either earlier or later than May 1st.
We share a large, beautiful lake with New Mexico’s northern border. If you join us, we will ensure you have opportunities to enjoy time on the water with our large pontoon boats.
