Job Description:
• Opening/closing the location, tasks may vary from one location to another. Open/close is performed by volunteer working solo
• Greeting and welcoming visitors
• Answering questions from basic orientation level (ex. Where is the Wildlife Loop?) to deeper knowledge-based questions (ex. Why do they do the Roundup?) and everything in between.
• Handling money selling park permits.
• Explaining the Jr. Naturalist Booklet and getting families started on it.
• Answering the telephone
• Ensuring the tidiness and cleanliness of the buildings. Duties include, but are not limited to, emptying trash and recycling receptacles, light dusting, wiping down touchscreens, wiping down and tidying bathrooms, and sweeping/vacuuming. (Staff does the heavy cleaning but we do ask that you check and tidy the various areas within the location and advise staff of larger problems.)
