DESCRIPTION:

Provide visitor assistance at Day-Use Park entrance areas. Pass out maps, answer general questions, inform visitors of park rules, monitor vehicle traffic, count parking spaces, issue USACE Annual Pass Hangtags after temporary annual pass receipt purchases at park ACCMs, and close park entrance area.

 

Couples work 8:30am to 5:30pm Saturdays and Sundays each regular weekend during rec season. Work Holiday weekends (Memorial, Independence, and Labor) 8:00am to 6:00pm over a 3 day weekend i.e. Fri, Sat, Sun or Sat, Sun, Mon. Couples must be available for all regular and Holiday weekends.
DUTIES

Work 30-40 hours per couple each weekend.  Weekdays are off days except for Mondays or Fridays on Holiday weekends.  Volunteers must provide some of their own uniform items.  This includes khaki pants or shorts (knee length).  A guidebook, name tag, and red Polo style shirt will be provided by the Project.

Amenities:  Electricity, Water, Sewage, and dumpsters for trash removal. Volunteers are responsible for providing their own internet and phone services.  Laundry and U.S. Postal Services are not guaranteed by USACE.

QUALIFICATIONS

Volunteers may, if authorized, issue USACE Annual Pass Hangtags to visitors who purchase temporary annual pass receipts via our automated credit card machines (ACCMs).  Volunteers will NOT handle any money from the public as all of our day-use fees are processed through automated credit card machines.  Volunteers will also conduct parking space counts with there privately owned vehicles to ensure that their assigned Day-Use Park does not become overcrowded beyond its capacity.  When parks do become full, volunteers will be responsible for closing the park to the public at the gatehouse entrance.

Must have exceptional customer service skills.  Ability to speak Spanish highly desired.  Previous experience with America the Beautiful Interagency park passes is a bonus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor (gatehouse or personal vehicle) and outdoor climates (near ACCMs external to gatehouse or under awnings in parks without gatehouses) during the warmer months of the year near the Metropolitan Atlanta Area.  Couples will work independently and with USACE staff during high volume peak periods.
