JOB DESCRIPTION:

·        West End Tent and Trailer Campground is located on the west side of the Fort Peck Dam, approximately 3 miles from the historic town of Fort Peck, Montana with access to the 5th largest reservoir in the lower 48 states.

·        Hosts are provided full hookups, free laundry and mileage reimbursement to reach Fort Peck. Work schedule is 4 days on, 4 days off. Hosts must be available to visitors in and around the campground during scheduled workdays. This averages about 8 hours a day or 30 hours/week through the season. Some scheduling flexibility may be available.

·        Check visitors in and out of the facility using recreastion.gov. Help campers if needed to make their own reservations online. Be available to assist campers at peak use times to provide information and general assistance.

·        Use provided utility vehicle daily to check two west side remote camping areas that includes fish cleaning station operations, primitive camping areas, shelter reservation cards, providing camping logs, cleaning and mowing quality checks, minor maintenance as needed.

·        Tend drip irrigation at campground to include marking known leaks, making minor repairs or informing staff.

·        13 electric campsites, 8 overflow primitive campsites, shower house/comfort station on site, less than a mile from Fort Peck Marina which includes a restaurant, bait shop and boat ramp. Summer temperature highs are usually in the 80s-90s during the day and 50s-60s at night.

·        On your days off you are welcome to leave the area and explore all the great places that the upper Great Plains has to offer. There are more than a dozen National Parks or Historic Sites within a day’s drive of Fort Peck and many more historical and other places of interest.

·        Facilities in or near Fort Peck include a post office, church, live theatre, hotel, restaurants, gas station, marina, and credit union. Glasgow, Montana, is nearby with a population of roughly 3,200. It is located approximately 20 miles northwest of Fort Peck. Glasgow has grocery stores, hardware stores, retail, movie theater, brewery.
