DESCRIPTION:

Support Administrative Functions at Park Headquarters. Opportunity to rove trails. RV Space Available.

 

Support Administrative Functions

• Work at the headquarters front desk greeting visitors, directing calls, and answering repetitive visitor questions.

• Assist administrative division with special projects as assigned

• Demonstrates a courteous, customer service attitude with visitors as well as colleagues.

RV Space Available.

 

Volunteer is expected to display a pleasant, helpful, and professional attitude while interacting with visitors whether at Headquarters, in the field, in person, by phone, or by email. Volunteer must have the computer skills to respond to emails and to manipulate a Google spreadsheet including: creating filter views to search for lost and found items and adding information to log. Volunteer will be responsible for daily mail processing to include utilizing computer and postage machine to determine proper rates, transporting daily mail to post office, retrieving incoming mail, opening, and distributing to mail area in headquarters. Volunteer will be expected to work independently and exhibit personal accountability. As volunteer will be handling visitor’s personal property, they must also act with integrity and care while handling lost and found items. Volunteer must be able to pass a background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed at the front desk in headquarters. The volunteer will be sitting at a computer desk and occasionally walking to open the main door, and to retrieve and sort mail. VIPs are required to wear a NPS volunteer uniform while working.
