DATES: 4/24/2024 – 7/31/2024

DEPT: National Park Service

Join the team at Chiricahua National Monument! We are currently seeking motivated volunteers that want to be a part of a great team serving visitors at a beautiful and unique park. Volunteer work will be completed indoors, in the park visitor center, and outdoors, while roving the park. This position is focused on visitor services. Volunteers answer questions, provide brochures and information, assist with cash register sales, and support day-to-day operations in the park visitor center. Training and orientation will be provided. This position may require long periods of standing.

Timeframe for this position is late April through July but can be extended depending on volunteer interest. A minimum of 32 hours per week is required; a work week includes 8-hour shifts, 4 days a week.

Volunteers will live on site in the Bonita Canyon Campground. RV spaces can accommodate trailers or motorhomes up to 29 feet. RVs must be furnished by the volunteer; the park does not provide RVs or other housing accommodations. Full hook-ups are available (electricity, water, and sewage), as is Wi-Fi service and a landline telephone. Cell coverage is limited in the park.

Volunteers may be required to operate a government vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required for this position. Volunteers will wear a uniform which will be provided by the park.

When filling out your application, please indicate if you have a completed federal background investigation or a PIV card.
