DESCRIPTION:

Cross Creeks NWR is roughly 9,000 acres that spans 11 miles of the Cumberland River in Dover, TN. The refuge is seeking someone that will be willing to assist FWS staff in maintenance and help keep the Visitor Center open weekdays. Heavy Equipment or Tractor Certified operators preferred. Also looking for someone to work in the Visitor Center. Two RV pads available. No Pets!

The refuge has two camper pads adjacent to an intern bunkhouse with laundry facilities. We ask 24 hours service per week in exchange for these accommodations. We will also provide your propane needs. There is limited wifi and signal service at this location.

 

DUTIES

Duties vary with volunteer experience, but include mowing, weed eating, painting, light construction, staining, landscape maintenance, picking up trash, installing/maintenance of signs, and other grounds/facility maintenance. However, our biggest need is a tractor operator.

Duties also include helping to keep the refuge Visitor Center open to the public on weekdays.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Volunteers with federal ATV/UTV or Tractor Certification is preferred.
