Seeking couple to fill Visitor Center Maintenance/Grounds Position from April – September, 2023

We are looking for couples to help maintain our recreation areas around the Visitor Center and day use areas at Dworshak Dam and Reservoir in Idaho! If you like to work in the outdoors, cleaning recreation areas (restrooms, litter) and groundskeeping (mowing, weedeating) as well as other assigned projects this could be a great opportunity for you. We are looking for couples from late April to after Labor Day (date is negotiable). The start and end hours are flexible, dependent on tasks and projects. We ask that each volunteer work 5-7 hour shifts for a three days on/three days off schedule. (Please do not let limitations in availability prevent you from considering this position; we can work with volunteers to fit their availability into our season.)

 

DUTIES
· Lawn Maintenance- mowing, weed-eating

· Restroom cleaning (total of 12 flush toilets and 4 urinals)

· Litter pickup

· Weeding

· General assistance to the public

· Other duties as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS
· Must genuinely like all kinds of people

· Must be capable of working in all types of weather

· Must be able to walk at least 1+ miles per day

· Must get along well with other people

· Must want to have fun!

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The visitor center maintenance position is mostly outdoors, with some special projects indoors. The areas you would be working would be in day use/boat ramp areas, trailheads and at the visitor center. You will need to be prepared to walk over a mile each day and be prepared for all kinds of weather. We will regularly adjust tasks or workday according to weather.
