JOB DESCRIPTION:
Come join our team at Wallisville Lake Project! Wallisville Lake Project is looking for volunteers to assist with the maintenance around the project. Duties include upkeep and repair of park facilities such as: boat ramps, picnic areas, trails and natural areas. This requires cleaning and inspection of facilities for repair needs, repairing facilities, and other environmental conservation techniques. Duties may also include vehicle and equipment maintenance, interior and exterior painting, plumbing projects, clearing brush, digging, weed control, carpentry projects, janitorial duties, litter pickup, operation of hand and power tools. Experience using hand power tools, carpentry, heavy equipment operation, and/or other trade skills preferred. This position can be physically demanding—heavy lifting, work stooping, bending, kneeling, standing, and ladder use is required, working outdoor with potential for extreme heat, cold, and insects (ticks and mosquitoes). Volunteer must also be able to fill out a Volunteer Daily Work Log and email a copy at the beginning of each month to the Volunteer Coordinator.
Project is looking for volunteer(s) who can commit to six months or a full year. Volunteers will need to provide their own RV or trailer. This opportunity includes a full hook-up RV site with water, sewer, electric (50amp max) in exchange for 25+ hrs./wk./person. Reliable cell phone service with most major providers is available. Wi-Fi is not available at the RV sites, but location is suitable for your own Wi-Fi hotspots. Also included: all necessary uniform components, and safety equipment (vest, hard hat, etc.)
