Hosts typically volunteer 4-5 days a week, including weekends and holidays. A full season’s commitment is needed. A typical commitment is 2-3 hours/day and 20 hours/week. Days off will be taken mid-week (Tues/Wed. or Wed./Thurs.) unless previous arrangements are made with the ORP. The host is not required to stay on site during days off. The schedule could vary depending on seasonal demands and needs.
The campground host site has a concrete parking pad which will accommodate a RV or camp trailer. There is additional room for the host’s personal vehicle. Vault sewer, storage shed, picnic table, fire ring, and electricity are provided by the BLM. Cell phone reception is available in the area from Verizon; but a cell phone is not provided by the BLM. A portable water tank is also provided by the BLM for host use.
Hosts must provide their own RV or camp trailer in which to live onsite. Pets may be permitted on a case-by-case basis but have to be approved ahead of time. Please note that all pets must be on a leash, including host pets, within the campground. Also, ATVs, UTVs, and motorcycles have to stay on existing roads and trails.
