Job Description
Penmac is seeking duos/teams for Camp Hosts at Smithville Lake for the Summer of 2025!
The primary purpose of this seasonal position is to represent the Parks Department as a host to park visitors, assist in collecting fees, and provide visitor support by responding to requests (day/night). Hosts will live on-site during the camping season (roughly April – September) in their RV or camper, at no cost, and work shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. as scheduled. As the season slows, there may be split shifts. Weekends and holidays are mandatory, and some split shifts may apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in tracking and assigning camping for over 700 campsites
Inform the public of park rules and regulations
Provide general information about the park
Give directions and answer questions regarding park operations and resources
Handle and accurately count money, make change
Operate basic office equipment
Use two-way radios for communication
Compensation includes a fee-free campground spot for your RV or camper and $12.30 per hour for hours worked. Hosts must be at least 18 years old, legally licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle and have their own camping unit.
