ADDRESS: 6145 Seven Points Road  Hesston, Pennsylvania, 16647

DATES: 4/3/2026 – 10/23/2026

DEPT: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Nestled in the breathtaking hills of central Pennsylvania, Raystown Lake, managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), is a haven for outdoor lovers, offering endless opportunities for boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, camping, disc golfing, and exploring nature’s beauty. Ready to immerse yourself in this incredible setting? Join the Raystown Lake Volunteer Village team and enjoy a one-of-a-kind opportunity to live at a fully-hooked up campsite—absolutely FREE—in exchange for volunteer hours.

You’ll work 20 hours/week as an individual or 30 hours/week as a couple from mid-April to October, with flexible start and end dates (priority is given to candidates who can stay the full season or at least three months). In return, you’ll have a campsite with water, sewer, and electric hookups all to yourself, while making a lasting impact on the park and the 1.2 million people who visit it annually.

Your tasks will vary depending on your skills and interests! Tasks may include natural resource management (trail maintenance, litter cleanup), general maintenance (fire ring cleaning, painting, trash removal), and interpretive & USACE park ranger support (water safety programs, special event coordination). No need for expert-level skills—just a love of nature and a desire to make a difference!

Weekend shifts (including holidays) are part of the job, and some tasks may be physically demanding. Volunteers must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license. This is your chance to contribute to something meaningful while living in one of Pennsylvania’s most beautiful outdoor destinations. Apply now and be part of our dedicated team at Raystown Lake!
